Summer Training

Every summer, thousands of cadets in Ontario attend Summer Training at various Cadet Training Centres across the province.  These range from the two-week General Training Course, to 3-week Basic courses, 6-week Advanced and National courses, and even summer employment opportunities and International Exchange. All courses focus on an aspect of the cadet program, such as leadership, survival, sports, music and aviation.

All cadets who joined the squadron before 1 January of the training year are eligible to apply for summer training.   Selected cadets are given an Offer of Participation form that parents must sign and return to the squadron.

Spots are limited on 3-week and 6-week courses, so priority is given out on the basis of rank, attendance, and other factors. Cadets who are on Stand-By will be advised if spots are available by their squadron officer.

Summer training of Air Cadets takes place at one of over a dozen Cadet Training Centres (CTCs) across the country during the months of July and August. To be eligible for summer training, you must have joined the Squadron prior to 1 January of the training year.
